A partnership with the private sector for public lighting is the "top"
The city has some problems with its lighting. "When we lit illumination at the entrance of the Rue Pasteur, the breaker of the last house that was jumping," says, without laughing, Mayor Daniel Cambier. Vandenbroucke and Christian, second assistant, adds to the traffic lights that do not work: "We no longer find replacement parts and replacement would cost 90 000 euros." Elected representatives and technicians have therefore made the rounds of cabinets and culminated in the finding that most were outdated and even dangerous. "A rate of decay of the order of 40% which is not extraordinary "rating for its share of the firm Pascal Fourmeau Hexa Engineering.
"A reconstruction of the whole would" lead "our investment capabilities," then analyzes the mayor who refuses to make a simple "patching". Yet half of the cabinets should be replaced in the short term and nearly 80% of the 500 streetlights in twenty years to make way for cast aluminum structure whose lifetime is 25 to 30 years. He, too, noted the existence of some black spots at the crosswalks, the former railway track, the stadium ... which should be equipped with new lighting points.
This gloomy diagnosis made, five priorities have been established. The main security concerns. Read users' comfort with reduced shadows and the fight against light pollution. "The globes that light up the mosquitoes, it is not used much," laughs the technician Hexa Engineering of which evaluated at equal equipment, more than 2O% power savings achievable. Then, with a special database, municipal services will know what is happening on the network in real time. Finally, the duration of the contract provided for twenty years has a chapter devoted to maintenance. It will allow the city to be always "on top" in two decades in the form of Daniel Cambier. And residents of the street lights Pasteur receive year-end without the breakers trip ...
