VINCI signs contract for public-private GSM-R

The first partnership agreement in France in the Railway
A contract worth around 1 billion euros and a 15-year
Synerail, owned by VINCI (30%) (Paris: DG) SFR (30%), AXA (30%) and TDF (10%) signed with Réseau Ferré de France (RFF) February 18, 2010 the partnership agreement GSM-R (Global System for Mobile Communication - Railway).

GSM-R is a digital telecommunications network that will provide communications between train drivers and the ground teams in conference mode. It will replace the old analog communication network Radio Sol Train (RST) and will be compatible and interoperable at European level.

The contract is to provide the financing, construction, operation and maintenance of GSM-R which will be rolled out through 2015 on 14,000 km of railway lines at high speed and traditional in France.

The work, totaling approximately 520 million euros will be made by a company owned 60% by VINCI Energies and will last 5 years.

The operation and maintenance of GSM-R will be entrusted to a dedicated subsidiary 40% of VINCI Energies, and represent a total of 430 million euros.

Project funding is provided through a contribution of equity shareholders of EUR 58 million, contributions from RFF for 160 million euros of bank debt without recourse to the shareholders of 520 million.
